Singer 221 Motor
This is not a Genuine Singer Motor - It is a Generic Replacement Motor  I
have customized & fitted the Singer Badge so your machine may maintain
that Genuine Singer Image.  I did remove the Generic badging.
The motor is $85.00, with a $20.00 core charge - Please send me your old
motor in return & I will refund up to $20.00 when it arrives, depending on
condition.  This is a New Motor - See Other Pictures below, including the
original Alpha Badge that has been replaced with a Genuine Singer 221
Badge.  I've seen these on other sites for $142.00, and they do not carry the

The Singer Featherweight 221 - The American Classic
Jam proof hook system...well...so it was said, like
the 301.  I remember my Singer Store Manager
telling me stories when the 301 came out &
demonstrating it at the Fresno Fair Grounds...the
221, like the 301 really was jam proof.  He would run
the machine without material...thread only...at high
speed...NO MATERIAL...just spooled the thread out
like crazy.  However...unfortunately...that really is
not quite true.  The 221 & 301 are both subject to
thread jamming.  The reason - the loop guard gets
damaged during the normal sewing cycle...it is a
factory setting, and should not be altered.  To restore
to a jam proof condition, repair the loop guard.
