Please note - that most of the links on this page are going to take you right to a PDF file If you have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed, it will open the PDF file, once open, you may save the file to your computer Depending on your connection speed, it can take a moment - This page will cover most all 600 series - 600 - 600E - 620's - 630's - 640's I'm pretty sure some very early 600's came in 3 flavors in respect to how one winds the bobbin
To the left, we have a 600 first release series. Notice the bobbin winder button below the stitch length lever. To the right, we have a 600E series. Notice there is no button below the stitch length lever, and the panel is a darker color with stripes running through it
Second Release Type Used in the 600E Notice it activates by pushing straight down on the button
Rocker Type Winder Used in most 620 series, but do think that some 600's may have had it just as they phased out. But I could be wrong
Push to the side Winder Type These appeared in the 630 series, and continue to be used in all other releases of the Touch & Sew Series

Differences is the bobbin winder systems The bobbin winder in the 1st release 600's were difficult to adjust over the later types used. However, with that said, the push down type (shown below far left) wasn't that much easier. I'm still looking for a photo of the lower pan area of a 1st release 600 to show how it worked.
